LRF Celebrates New Executive Board and Full Membership with World Rugby
Below is an extract from an email update received from our friends in the Lao Rugby Federation, Viengsamai Souksavanh, CEO.
Happy New Year from Lao Rugby! I hope you’re keeping well, and that you had great holidays. I wanted to share some exciting news from LRF. On 23 December, LRF hosted a ceremony to celebrate LRF’s new Executive Board and Full Membership with World Rugby, which was attended by officials from the Lao Ministry of Education and Sport, Ambassadors, and other distinguished guests, as well as virtual speakers from across the world. Even though we couldn’t celebrate together in person, I wanted to personally thank you for all that you and the Pot Bellied Pigs have done to support LRF over the years to help us reach this significant milestone. You can see a press release summarising the event here and more photos from the event here (including Pot Bellied Pigs logo visibility on the event banner). Please feel free to share it with your networks, and let me know if any other media or information would be helpful to you.
We’re looking forward to another year of tremendous growth towards our mission of “Rugby for All in Laos” in partnership with you and the international rugby community. We’re kicking off the action with the DHL Vientiane 10s on 30-31 January, featuring the most Lao club teams in the tournament’s history! See press release here for more information. We’ll also host Pass It Back Coach Training in January for over 100 Champa Ban Coaches in Xieng Khouang Province, Vientiane Province, and Vientiane Capital, so they can register teams and begin delivering the next season of rugby and life skills sessions in their communities. We’re so grateful to have the support of the Pot Bellied Pigs for our Champa Ban Youth Rugby programe in Paek District for another year, and can’t wait until we can see you here in Laos again!
