Fatboys Golf

In a valley far, far away…

Well not too far actually, Clark Sun Valley Country Club to be exact!

In conjunction with the rugby event we run a Golf tournament every Friday of the Fatboy’s weekend. Co founded some 16 years ago by PB Nichole Ritchie and Richard Asbridge of Sinclair James in Manila, the tournament started modestly at Mimosa Golf & Country Club with around 60 players. Today it now maxes out at 144, being over-subscribed for the last four years. This shows how popular the Fatboys Golf Tournament has become and we are actively looking to support charitable golf events in the Philippines and around Southeast asia. Located in the Clark foothills, the course has well-manicured fairways, good greens and very friendly caddies!

Event Details

• Four ball teams

• Texas Scramble format - Divisions A and B subject to team handicaps

• Fabulous competition prizes, including traditional tournament longest drive, nearest the pin and beat the pro

Registration starts at 7.30 am with a bus arranged to collect you from the various hotels in the Clark area. Among the day’s key activities are:

• A buffet breakfast

• Crazy chip & putt (sponsored by Harv and his team from Golf Pro Throwbacks)

• Titleist-sponsored longest drive competition

• Event briefing and group photograph opportunities

Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful event sponsors the Fatboys Golf Tournament is able to provide our participants fabulous golf goodie bags - simply the best of any regional charity golf event -and we offer everything from beer cooling bags, event branded shorts, caps, towels, socks (from Tommy at UET International) and even golf umbrellas. (You may have seen some of these at international sporting events around the world!)

During the day liquid refreshments are available from our roving drinks cart or the two on-course kiosks.

After you have finished you have full access to the member’s facilities at the course to freshen up, and we put on a buffet dinner whilst the results are being calculated. Awards, fines and banter ensues up to 7-pm when the bus arrives to take you down to your hotel or onward to Envy Bar to join the rest of the weekend’s activities.
